Hi Tony:

You will Need to extract all the Installers/Upgrade Mediate including the Installer Fixpacks, Latest R3trans, Patches/kernel before you start the EHPI Installer.
>> In anycase, the installer will start prompting you for those anyway within the first 20-30 mins of the Prepare.

I would assume your constraint in asking the question is over the Amount of space that can be alloted over to the "/usr/sap/trans/EPS/in" filesystem.
>> For a workaround, which i have used in my past upgrades was to have my Unix/Storage Team allot a separate 200 GB filesystem.
>> I then created a softlink from "in" folder in "/usr/sap/trans/EPS/in" to the target filesystem that was created.

Please refer to the Upgrade/EHPI guide for space requirements.

The Upgrade Directory Can be then Based off in the Target Filesystem.
>> Please refer to your EHPI Guide for the initial start of the EHPI.
>> You would then start the EHPI GUI for the first time with the Upgrade Directory as the Target Filesystem that you have created.

For example:
/install/EHPI is the export Filesystem where 200GB(or as requisite!) space is allotted.
/usr/sap/trans/EPS/in is now shortlinked to /install/EHPI.

*** When starting EHPI:
Execute from command line:
<EHPI Installer Path>/EHPI <Upgrade Directory> <JCEPOLICY Filepath>

Raghav
