My requirement is that we have an aging Gas Plant with Rotable PSVs some of which are obsolete now due to their age.

What I require is the Follow On Function that would allow a reserved Material Number say 123 to be sitting in the system, but upon Issue the system would see zero stock and issue the alternate material number say 456.

The PM work order would then install Material 456, being a Rotable piece of equipment into the Plant.

The equipment coming out, then overhauled and returned to stock is Material 123.

Next reservation being for the standard Material 123 would now have sufficient stock to issue.

Eventually when the Obsolete equipment becomes unservicable and is dispiosed of the new model stocks would be replenished.

Unfortunately with over 7'500 PSVs it is not financially feasible to dispose of the obsolete valves and replace them with current models.
