The following should work for most LSMW loads:
in the LSMW Process Step double click on the Specify Files step,
click on the change button,
double click on the imported data file name,
open another session and enter transaction AL11,
I copied a directory path, pasted it into the imported file name in LSMW,
added a '\' (we are using NT server) and the file name I wanted to use.
Do the same for the converted data file name.
click on the save button.

In the standard LSMW load, it's using the 'OPEN DATASET' on the file name you specify.
If you specify a directory, it will write to that directory. if you don't, it will write to the root directory.
I don't know how you would change the root directory, but it would effect all programs using 'OPEN DATASET' not specifying a directory. (not desirable).

The problem with the above procedure is that it will likely have the System ID in the directory. This means that you would have to change the directory each time you move LSMW to another system.

If you are using BAPI or EDI loads, from what I remember you have to specify the path which will eleviate your problem.

No good answer I'm afraid.

Subject: Change LSMW directory for .conv files

> Is it possible to change the directory on the application server where the LSMW .conv files are stored? Currently we have the files being stored in the root directory and the Basis team has asked us to change this and provided us with a different route. The issue is: no one knows how to change the default path and set this new path.
