[sap-hr] Usage of variants in work schedules

Hi,
I have a client requirement as follows:
One of the period work schedule PWS is as follows:
Monday to Friday: 8, 8 , 8, 8,4
My question is :
First Approach
Shall I create two Daily work schedule as follows and assign them to the period work schedule:
D8 consisting of 8 hours
D4 consisting of 4 hours
And then my Period Work schedule will be :
PWS: D8 , D8, D8, D8, D4
Alternative method:
Shall I create as follows:
D8 consisting of 8 hours
Again D8 with variant A.
Then Period Work Schedule will be:
PWS: D8, D8,D8,D8,D8
I prefer to use the first method as it is more clear and convenient?
Please let me know if my understanding is correct?
