Hi,
It is really a complicated issue and most common where the stock are moving around the plants. What you have to understand is that it is the delivery date of the STO item in the ordering plant which controls the delivery date of the material at the issuing plant. Therefore, it is entirely critical that the delivery date in the STO item must be properly set.
Let's assume that -
1) Material A is internally requested from Ordering Plant X to Issuing Plant Y; and
2) The SD process will be required where outbound delivery document is generated; and
3) Material A in Issuing Plant Y is externally procured from Vendor Z.
In this particular case, the planned delivery time (which determines the delivery date of the material in the STO at Receiving Plant) will be calculated in accordance with the following formula -
Planned delivery time = Purchasing Processing Time (to convert PR into PO at Plant) Planned delivery time (from the Vendor Z to Issuing Plant Y) GR Processing Time of the material at Plant Y Pick & Pack Time (at Plant Y) Loading Time (at Plant Y) Internal Lead Time (from Plant Y to Plant X).
This formula will definitely help you compute and set the related planned delivery time at Plant X so that you don't need to change the delivery date at both X and Y.
Cheers,
HT

> Does anyone have any information on how the processes work between the sending and receiving plant. We are fully configured with STO's and its working. The issues we are having is dates between sending and receiving plants. The receiving plant creates STO with the delivery date they are expecting it. However when the sending plant gets it they need to shift things out.
> We dont want to have them change the delivery date on STO as the receiving site owns this field and will mess with their MRP. The only other thing i can think of is to enter an AB order ack. but the sending site has to do this manually which is ok i guess
