Thanks for clarifying about the SMD.
I have to disagree with SAP Support on the media version issue, though.

Thank you for your input on this matter. I cheked with SAP AG and they
confirmed that there is no way in the System (R/3 level or on OS ) we can
check and see what media was used to install the system .
But As a note if you see SMD Agent in the MMC on Windows,Or Process in UNIX
then it is installed with SR3 Media becasue SMD was part of only SR3.
@LEH, Yes Once we install SAP system with SR1 and update to SR3 it will
install SMD Agent because the update contains the SAR files for SMD agent
and introscope agent.
