Generally, you would assign the PRT in the Task List, then the Maintenance Plan generates the Work Order including the PRT. The same PRT would be assigned in many work orders.
To mass update work orders, there are mass update functions available in IW38 and IW37N. (Not every change can be done this way.) You may need to turn the mass update functions on via SFW5. See this thread for more background: https://archive.sap.com/discussions/thread/3425407
