Selectiong Delete Historical Order does not work. Historical Orders are a
special type. For Non-Historical orders, they cannot be DELETED, you may
set status them to DLFL, Marked for Deletion. This prepares them for
removal from the system for archiving. But unless your firm is planning an
archiving effort, they will still remain in the system. But at least the
status will be such that they are no longer Backlog. IW38 allows for
sequential processing of each order selected, but this is not a Mass Change.

Another way to remove them from the backlog is for CRTD WO you may mark
them as Do No Execute, and for REL orders mark them as TECO.

These two status codes may be set in mass using IW38.

Select the orders by status and other criteria of importance, then go to
menu Order>Completion. Process CRTD separately from REL orders.

Subject: Mass Deletion Of PM Work Orders

Hi,

I am brand new to using SAP. I just started a new position and the existing system has not been maintained over the past several years.

I have over 8000 work orders in system status of REL or CRTD. I want to delete all of them and start a new backlog.

Can someone explain how to do this?

Thank you
