Reply from Clinton Jones on Mar 30 at 6:30 AM It seems that tablets and phones are becoming a more popular option because they are ubiquitous and low cost - it all comes down to the software of course. As you are aware, using Symbol, Intermec and other high end scanning devices can be pricey. Renald Wittwer posted a FIORI example of this on SAP blogs https://blogs.sap.com/2014/07/25/using-camera-as-barcode-scanner-on-your-mobile-in-sapui5-app/ - you can also take a look at CSC Mobility who featured something on this in their blog https://blogs.csc.com/2015/09/21/sap-fiori-app-on-warehouse-management/ I have seen Armoractive demonstrate using a lanyard bluetooth barcode scanner with the ipad which is another interesting option.

I do not have experience with tablets as RF scanning devices. Most of my projects are with Symbol or other makes. Does anyone has experience with tablets as RF scanning devices? Any pros and cons you can list using tablets versus handheld scanning deveices? Appreciate any help. | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | In the Spotlight Become a blogger at Toolbox.com and share your expertise with the community. Start today. _.____.__ |
