As I gather, you need a single code for a material which is brought from
various vendor. At the same time you need a traceability. I can think of
one work around. Can you create supplier wise batches for same material?
Here you can trace the batch till it is issued to production and the
material used in production.

I need a suggestion for my requirement as
We are looking for is a solution to support purchase of different brands for a same material number. Usage of all the possible brands gives the same end product. We do not want to produce variants of our products.
Our problem is that different manufacturers produce equivalent ROH materials that are interchangeable, and we want to buy the different alternatives for the same material number that is used in the BOM. The different alternatives need to be maintained separately in stock to allow traceability of their usage in our end products.
Opening of separate material codes for same generic material such as PC (ROH) raw materials from different vendors or brands is not suggestible
