Find the Scheduling Margin Key (for Floats) in the Material Master MRP view. Click on the drop-down and then click on the column for opening period and press F1:
Number of workdays subtracted from the order start date to determine the creation date.
The opening period can be used by the MRP controller as an extra time buffer.
The opening period is only used in backward scheduling.

The message is telling you that the order is already late based on all the parameters involved.

Using SAP "P2A" system. I am receiving alert for "opening days in the past" looking for a simple response for what that means about my materials.
