We have had limited success with custom reports for reporting and editing long text. Our solution to this problem is WinShuttle. It is a third party solution that solves many SAP issues.

Generally it is very difficult to report free entry text, even in a bespoke report. It would be even more difficult to add it to a SAP-standard report like COOIS. Also it is not advisable to modify SAP-standard reports. Your best bet is to get your Admin/ABAP team to create a bespoke report for you.
