Hi !

Following some findings in maintenance plans which stop generating workorders:

1.- Plans have been restarted and SAP displays a message during maintenance plan selection, when trying to display the Graphic schedule overview.

2.- It has been determined that some manual calls appear in the maintenance plans.

Transaction IW30 displays list of order for a maintenence plan C. The date in manual calls were specified within the period between the preceding and subsequent call as follows:

Order Basic start Created on Entered by
1 06.03.2012 25.01.2013 Batch job
2 07.01.2014 07.01.2014 End user
3 27.01.2014 27.01.2014 End user
4 06.03.2014 25.01.2014 Batch job
5 06.12.2014 27.10.2014 Batch job
6 18.02.2015 18.02.2014 End user
7 08.01.2016 08.01.2016 End user

I think end user shouldnt create manual calls in Jan 2014, but wait for the automatic creation of maintenance order in Mar 2014 (as per 365 days cycle)

3.- It has been determined that Schedule Period in Maintenance Plans is 40 days. (< 365 days m.p. cycle). Best practice is to set the schedule period bigger than the plan cycle to allow the system display more than one "on hold" call.

Could be this the reason why SAP has stoped creating the maintenance order?

I will appreciate your comments.

Regards

Rafael

Subject: Why Maintenance Order has stopped generating from Maintenance Plan?

Dear SAP Experts,

End user has created two maintenance plans A & B through IP41 with cycle start date on 06 August 2011 and 06 March 2011 respectively. He has maintained 365 Day at the Cycle/Unit, the call horizon as 100% and scheduling period as 40 days. The Completion Requirement field is unchecked and the order type as preventive maintenance order.

No factory calendar was set on the maintenance plans scheduling parameters
.
After the Maintenance Plans were created, the plans where scheduled at IP10, with the cycle start date on 06 August 2011 and 06 March 2011. After released the first item, the scheduling was saved.

Then the plans were run in background through batch job for program RISTRA20
These are the current maintenance plan schedule calls for maint. plan A, with cycle start date on 06 August 2011

1 05.08.2012 22.09.2012 New start Complete
2 05.08.2013 14.10.2013 Scheduled Complete
3 05.08.2014 27.09.2014 Scheduled Complete
4 05.08.2015 07.08.2015 Scheduled Complete

And following the maint.plan schedule calls for plan B, with cycle start date on 06 March 2011

1 06.03.2013 17.05.2013 New start Complete
2 06.03.2014 09.05.2014 Scheduled Complete
3 06.12.2014 30.01.2015 New start Complete

As no workorders were automatically created for the years 2015 and 2016 in maint. plan B ,two manual calls were entered by end user.

Manual calls dates in plan B

First manual call date 17.02.2015 completed on 04.03.2015
Second manual call date 08.01.2016 completed on 13.01.2016

I would like to find out what has gone wrong with the maintenance plan B, that cause no automatic creation of Maintenance Orders on 2015 and 2016.

Best regards,

Rafael
