Reply from BLEUNG on Dec 14 at 11:53 AM Since "My target is to print in SAP-Linux environment via USB Front End printing" For Front end printing, on SAP side, you use access method F or G (it depends on your sap system which one or both available or not). In Host printer field, you have to use __DEFAULT (exactly like it shown in here) (it is underscore underscore then followed by upper case DEFAULT) then save the printer definition. Customer on their windows workstation has to add this USB printer either it is local attached printer or it is a network printer which in the workstation has to set to as DEFAULT printer. Do the customer use Linux workstation or SAP Linux environment ? I always thought your question is sap is Linux OS and user is on Windows. If workstation is Linux, then you might need to check with SAP official support website how it works. Brenda

I create a new device type. 2. Then create a new page format. (Under this I copied the printer action i.e.:-Printer initialization.Start of Page,End of page....) 3. Downloaded .PRI file (printer driver) from HP website.(HP releases SAP-printer device types for HP-printers) 4. Export and Import this driver file into C;/temp folder for this new device type. After this i configured new printer in SAP via SPAD in SAP Server. Now I am little bit confused what will I entered in the host spool field.. Whether I enter :-- __DEFAULT or the newly created printer name and what Access method i choose : L-Local Access Method for Unix or U-Remote Access Method for Unix. If I give Access Method-L then what will i have to enter in the Host Spool field.. And SNMP configuration is mandatory or not :- IP Address/Host Name <printer IP address for SNMP> Community Name public Version 1 Device Index 1 My target is to print in SAP-Linux environment via USB Front End printing. Please guide me....!! Warm Regards, JUNAID | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | _.____.__ |
