Reply from GaneshSuryanarayanan on May 18 at 5:07 AM Hello Venkat, The International Markets, to an extent are same, meaning they expect you to know more of the system, since being technically good is always preferred. So, you cant be a master in CO, without knowing the basics (FI). If you are willing to travel and look for overseas opportunities, you must be good at what you do, these are always good for 2 reasons : 1. you will learn constantly, so that will help you understand the better, try to be the "go to man",helps builds confidence for yourself and your client. 2. A Sap consultant should know the system such that, you will learn how you can add value and put technology to better use. Again, the fundamental rule here remains the same, knowing the basic module, in our case SAP FICO, but do keep in mind you are not expected to know anything and everything ( FICO is a vast area, FI and CO as it is known, so you cant know "ALL") Learn. Teach. Repeat. Hope it helps.

The reason why I have posted this question is because of advancement in SAP (SAP Simple Finance, SAP HANA Etc), I wondered how it will affect work life of a general FICO consultant, but I got some clear idea about it & you have exactly pointed out the same. Hope you don't mind, I have an another question, does the same kind of situation prevails international market also? Thank You very much once again.
