You should get together with the accounting side of the house and discuss with them what accounting structure they would like to see. For example, one company I knew used a 7-digit account number out of the 10 possible positions and anything in the 7100000 to 7699999 was considered "expense". There were sub-accounts based on the first four digits, so 7100 was all expenses related to salaries and wages. Therefore, 7100001 to 7100999 gave them 1,000 accounts just for salaries and wages of all sorts. Is this what you're asking? Lou
