There seems to be some confusion here .
When you log into the SAP system you come to the SAP Easy Access Menu. This is where the user can execute transactions and maintain data . Sometimes you could land up in the User Menu where you only see those user transactions that you have been authorised to execute. You can switch between both menus. However, both menu's show the command line(a box like structure on the top left of the SAP Screen to enter transaction codes).
However, for any SAP Consultant trying to do customizing through customizing tables, there is a transaction with transaction code spro which is also known as IMG ( Implementation Guide) which you enter in the command line of the SAP Easy Access Menu to switch from the SAP Easy Access Menu to the IMG which has different functional areas /industry solution areas for customizing.
There are some tables which could exist in both the SAP Easy Access Menu and the IMG.
Many projects create project IMG's with subareas of configuration access so that the IMG is restricted to SAP Consultants for relevant areas of customizing.
I could go on but this is in brief .

How about the other way round. IF we use spro and navigate to a particular IMG path, how to determine the IMG Node? |
