SAP always recommend to use last versions of ST/PI and ST-A/PI, but as a
best practice these component version should be aligned with your Solman
components version.
If you are on 01Q_731 and will just upgrade to 01R_731, which is the next
SP level, it should work fine.
Do you see any error message on the logs?

Subject: Cannot Upgrade STAPI 01Q_731 to ST API 01R_731
hello guys,
i wanna ask some question about ST-A /PI upgrade currently my ST API version are ST-A/PI 01Q_731 and i got the EWA Report to upgrade to ST API 01R_731 version
but after i successfully patch in the system for the SAPKITAB9n (ST-A/PI 01R_731) in the system and i'm also try to patching it from front end with saint although it's successfully decompress the patch
but still when it open my SPAM tcode and try to import the queue file at ST-A/PI 01Q_73 it shows "NO SUPPORT PACKAGE FOUND FOR THIS SELECTION"
i already try many times to reply the action but still it's show the same result
please can someone help me with this matter ?
*is there any patch that should i add before the SAPKITAB9N although at SAP servicetools it only shows SAPKITAB9N for my system and also recommended from RTCCTOOL
