Reply from CWKorn on Sep 2 at 9:50 AM Tom -- It's a little difficult to tell exactly what your business condition is. This looks like you're dealing with a part that is batch managed and classified and you have an inspection characteristic set up to capture a classification characteristic -- but the characteristic isn't being included in the inspection plan used to receive the part. Is that correct? If so, this may help... There are two ways of getting an inspection characteristic onto an inspection plan. You can create the inspection plan and assign the characteristic to a specific operation on the inspection plan. Or, you can set up a Material Specification for the part and include the characteristic in the material specification. If you set up your receiving inspection Inspection Type on the material master to use he Material Spec, then all of the characteristics in the material spec will automatically appear on the inspection plan when it is generated during receiving. There are some subtleties to this we can explore if this is really what you're trying to do. Carl
