Hi

Currently NY employee disability tax is withholding for semi-monthly employees over both payrolls of the month, $1.30 for each pay period. This is causing over-withholding for employees hired after the 15th of the month (which is second pay period of the month).

Changes are required for the wage type /441 (with related /641 & /741) so that it is to withhold only on the 1st payroll of the month for both (semi monthly & monthly) payroll areas. It should withhold $2.60 on the first payroll run. It should also not to withhold on the Monthly Off-cycle payroll.

NY Employee paid disability tax is required to deduct $2.60 only in the first pay period of the month irrespective of employees hired in first pay period / second pay period of the month.

It was configured to override the $1.30 value calculated by BSI and a constant has been created with $2.60.

This value would be called by a rule and will be processed based on the unemployment tax authority and will be stored in RT table as /441.

However, there is concern about /641 and /741. When these are being generated by BSI we have adjust the values accordingly as per the new tax amounts and should be stored in TCT. This should happen only in the first pay period of month.

Please advise.

Madhav.
