Yes, I have 2 quality system by application consultant's request.
2 quality system have same SID, but have difference hostname and location.
Case of ABAP or dual-stack systems, use to transport group as you say.
Case of Java only system, I seems to cannot create transport group.

QAS(1), QAS(2) are difference System, but same SID.
