If they're gonna change you need to edit hosts files of all SAP/DB/external system servers, unless you use a DNS Server and haven't configured hosts files. SAP-wise have you checked if there are any configurations within SAP with IP Addresses instead of hostnames? Also need to check if servers do connect to external systems and viceversa and check if those configurations are hostname based or ip address based. Also client IT team should be aware to change configuration on backup tools. That's all i can think right now, a lot of people will come here surely to give ya more info.
