This is a multi-step process with a lot of things to consider. You are better of getting a detailed document or better yet, getting info from a book.
There are are several SAP books that are useful. The one that is closest to your needs is:
"Check Design and Payment Process Configuration in SAP ERP Financials" (Disclosure: I wrote it.)
You should also consider "Maximizing SAP ERP Financials Accounts Payable " which will cover just configuration.
