Just google variant selection tables and you will get lots of useful
results (in terms of explanation anyway might not be as useful as you might
hope in terms of displaying) such as this for example

If you do SE11 on VARICON then you can see it is not used and SE16N shows
no records.
Moral of the story - don't necessarily trust a short description... (oh and
perhaps also include what you are trying to achieve in your question as
well so that someone can provide a solution for you although hopefully the
link above will get you pointed in the right direction enough to not need
another question)
