CPIC 236 = connection failed. Diagnose connection issues from the o/s of the client host using telnet.
"telnet <target host IP with gateway> <33xx>"
You need to substitute in the valid hostname or IP address and port #. The gateway port # will be in the 33xx range, where xx = the 2-digit system number of the instance with the gateway you want to connect to (unless you've changed the port # from the default when you installed, in which case check your install docs or maybe the 'services' file).
For example: 'telnet hostABC.domain.com 3300'
If successful, it will look similar to this:
telnet hostABC.domain.com 3300
Trying 10.100.5.5...
Connected to hostABC.domain.com.
Escape character is '^]'.
If not successful it will throw some error message. Post back any errors.
If that doesn't help, check the dev_rd (gateway) log (on the server, not the client) also.
