The value of using a Tokenization solution like XiSecure in SAP is that the encrypted card numbers that are associated with the Tokens are not stored in the SAP database. In fact, the encrypted card numbers associated with the Tokens aren't stored in the Merchant's environment at all. Instead, they are stored in Paymetric's XiSecure Data Vault in the cloud.
The benefit for the Merchant is that the sensitive, encrypted card number data is no stored securely off-site and there is no longer any card number data inside the Merchant environment that a hacker would target stealing.
Should you need access to the original, RAW card numbers there are two ways:
* Users that have the proper access and authority can log into a Paymetric portal and enter a token and retrieve a RAW card number (preferred option as no RAW card numbers are exposed in any of the Merchant's applications)
* A web service call to detokenize can be integrated into a system so that the process is initiated from a Merchant system (less preferred because RAW cards are exposed in the Merchant's applications)

We are using Paymetric's XiSecure product to encrypt our credit card numbers in SAP. We have built a security access around within the sales order itself that some people see the decrypted value. Is there a table that stores the values decrypted that I can pull from as I need to pull a large amount of sales orders and don't want to have to look in each order to obtain the values. |
