In current and previous company, we printed product labels when shop floor papers were printed (before order was complete/posted). Since we used an anticipated date of manufacture (We based the date of manufacture on schedule finished date) there were exceptions where we needed to revise the date. It was managed in a business process and for the most part, had few issues.
