Wilhite Sent: Monday, July 01, 2013 12:17 PM Subject: New Techniques to Copy File in Background I need to be able to copy a file in the background on the application server. I have seen several suggestions but can make only one (FTP) work. As many have said, I was hoping for a FM or OO Method. Oh, I forgot, Open | Read |Close |Open |Write |Close. I can also make that work. But there is fear that the file will not be binary identical. Other options I've seen: - RSBDCOS0 - won't work because there is no way to know if it succeeded or not.
- ARCHIVFILE_SERVER_TO_SERVER - I can't make this FM run. If anyone is using it, I'd love to see your code.
- PFL_COPY_OS_FILE - Has been deleted by SAP!
- SXPG_CALL_SYSTEM - may be a remote possibility, but I don't know how to construct the command for iSeries IBM App Server.
So I hope that no one will fuss that I haven't done my homework before posting. I will be pleased to read anyone's thoughts on this mater and of course, you might note that I'm doing something wrong (ask for any clarification that you need), so those comments are welcome too.
