Reply from Nitin on Jun 20 at 11:24 AM You must have seen all the comments above. Most of them are correct. Here are some facts about installation of SAP ECC6.0 on Windows
1. SAP can only be installed on Server edition and hence you cannot install on your laptop if you use windows 8
2. You do need to format the system. You can perform above mentioned technique of VMware.
3. You cannot use dual boot option as that is not allowed by Windows 8
4. VMware version is available and you can go through some documentation on that and then install windows on your windows 8.
5. Once you install vmware, download or buy windows server version, preferably windows 2003 server edition and then install sap ecc on it.
6. Keep in mind that sap would be slow in that.
7. You will have to perform loop back test in vmware to install sap.
