Reply from Vivek on Jun 19 at 3:16 PM Hi Luis, We are a SAP customer running SAP ECC 6.0 and BW 7.0 on Microsoft SQL servers and databases. We have an enterprise agreement with Microsoft and all our servers and databases are MS. Our servers are Microsoft 2008 R2 and database is Microsoft SQL 2008. In terms of support, we have an internal SAP team (very small in size - 1 for Basis & Security, 1 Functional ECC, 1 BW, 2 ABAP'ers) who support the entire landscape. We carry on day-to day support and internal development (enhancements). Only time we reach out to SAP support is when we find an issue or need to clarify the working of the standard SAP functionality. SAP provides fixes (OSS notes) to their standard functionality if there are any bugs. Most of the fixes are applied through the SAP application (not directly to the underlying database/app server directly). We sometimes do reach out to SAP support during upgrades if we face issues (upgrades are also handled inhouse or with the help of external SAP consultants). Database operations such as defragmenting, OS patches, restoring databases, etc are all handled internally too with the help of DBA's. Hope this helps. Regards, Vivek

So regarding to support, what you are saying is that we will recur to SAP support when something goes wrong or need something very specialized (such as platform migration), and that we shall be in charge of performing the rest of the daily/operative tasks, right? What is the level of support do you have with SAP and what are your experiences with it? Regards, Luis Fernando. | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | _.____.__ |
