Reply from SergioHerculano on May 9 at 6:50 AM Hi, I had a similar situation like this some years ago, the company had a huge access and excel spreadsheets for Budget and was not using SAP for this purpose, I made a full review of process and the point of integration mentioned here is really a problem in this scenario, in addition the people from Finance use 80% of the time to deal with data instead of analyze information, at the end of analysis phase the obvious conclusion came up the people were using this approach to have freedom to make the Budget figures. After this initial step we developed a integrated planning approach using SAP BI-IP and so far the result we achieved is much better and the people are convinced of the advantages of the integration and also to use the ERP that they already have in the company. If you manager leaves, who will support this Access database and maintain the business processes built around it, 2. It will be difficult to support as Access evolves and capabilities change, 3. Keeping data synced between the two systems and confirming that the reporting of the Access system is accurate will become challenging over time.
