This actually the real problem:
The asset initial value has'nt to be depresiated.
Let's set a schema to better explain the issue :
Asset initial value : 12 000 posted last year 04/2011
Monthly dep. : 1 000 began this year 01/2012
Actual
Asset value = 12 000 - 4 000 = 8 000
Monthly dep. = 1000 (still)
What we need to have
Asset value at 04/2011 should have been 10 000
So monthly dep should have been 833.33
So as today the asset value will be 4 333.36
With monthly dep value 541.67
Is it possible to correct the initial error ?

You can post the manual unplanned dep. to reduce the value in the current
year and then at the month end run dep.
