Reply from JG-SAPHR on Apr 6 at 10:31 PM Hi As others have said, pro-rating is done as below: a)Determine how the prorating is required - For example, for basic pay, exclude inactive periods (like start service at mid pay period or end service before pay period end, all absence types). b)V_512W_D: The w/t used for the payment is configured with a suitable Pr cl 10 value. c)The schema X000->sub schema XAL0 has c-1)- function GEN-16: Generates 16 wage types /801 to /816 with an initial value of rate 100,000.00. The purpose of such value is to have a good amt of accuracy. This is then divided by 100,000 later to bring back to a unit value - after multiplying the amt. c-2)pcr XPPF and its suib pcr's like XPP0, XPP1, etc: XPPF processes the w/t's /8** to reduce the input value based on the requirement of each w/t. As mentioned above, basic pay w/t may use may proc cl 10 = 01. Some other w/t may use val 02. and so on. You can have upto 16 types pro-rating derived in the w/t's /801 to /816. c-2-1)In the case of /801 used for basic pay, the prorating may be as mentioned above. The op'n RTE-TSAU** reduces the initial value 100,000.00 as above. See the hep text for the op'n RTE to understand what this is doing. c-2-2)For another type of payment, the business rule may be to: reduce only by inactive period and leave without pay. c-2-3)In some cases, the w/t /8** may contain the actual hrs or days to be paid for. c-3)pcr XVAL then multiplies the amt input for the payment w/t by the rate in w/t /8**. The actual details of the steps in this rule depends on the pr cl 10 value of the payment w/t. The pcr's provided by SAP - XPPF, XPP0,...XVAL will need to be customised based on the business rules in a company. You do not change the standard SAP pcrs and schemas. Copy them to customer range like Y*** or Z*** and change these copies as required. See SAP-HR - Check your basics-Answers-1 re: how to customise pcr's and schemas. Hope this helps. Regards, JG
