Just a caution, please be sure the users voicing this requirement include managerial accountants.

One might consider that the posting date is the accounting/reporting date, and therefore should be the date of the economic transaction or event/condition being recognized, and not the entry date of the recognition. The routed approval date could slide into the next interim period, quarter or year - and thus the timing/cut-off/completeness assertions could be strained if too many document types are included in the requirement.

Perhaps document date could be used instead. Regards

Subject: Positng Date on Parked Documents

Users would like for the posting date for parked document to change to approval date only for specific document types.
Example - a user enters a parked document on Oct 1st - it goes through work flow for approval and is approves on Oct 6th.
Is there a way to set up the system so that the posting dates changes from 10/1 to 10/6 for the above sample - again only for specific document types.

Thanks for any help.

Carol
