Hi Reena, Purposes of time types can be to a) Check what action is required later in TMxx schema. This is done so that a particular condition is indicated by 1 or 0 in a t/t. Instead of checking the same condition several times in the schema, a t/t is set with a value first. Subsequently this t/t value is checked. b) Use in leave accrual. For example, a t/t can be set with number of hours of OT being used for leave in lieu quota accrual. c) Report (as you have said) the different absences and attendance types being used by employees in a period. The t/t has to be configured to save it in the daily, monthly and yearly. Depending on the period start date for a t/t reporting or usage, the t/t cumulation needs to be cleared in time schema PCR after CUMBT at the end of year (or at start of year). You need to get business requirements for reporting. Then design the t/t's and the PCR's accordingly. The required t/t's and values for each employee needs to be extracted into BI or BW. BI/BW needs to be configured as per the reporting requirements - using the current needs with a scalability approach. Hope this helps. Regards, JG

The client is in the process of implementing BI and the BI consultants have asked that we setup the reporting time types for absences and quotas. I have a few questions and I'm hoping that someone can please help - What is the best way to set up the reporting time types. - What effect does the reporting time types have on time management reporting? - What is the reason for setting up reporting time types in SAP? - Also how does BI then use these reporting time types for reporting?
