Yes we can have internal as well as external number range assignment for Org unit and position. Please try the below configuration. SPRO PM--Org Management-Basic Settings-maintain number range Choose the Subgroup and select Maintain number range. Ensure that the "Status" of the internal number range is zero. Choose your internal number range as low and try a configuration as shown in the below example. Example: No. From To Current EXT EX 30000000 399999999 X IN 00000000 000000001 X Try using the expert mode for creation of object types with external number range. Ex. For position use Po13 and key in the object id in the initial screen and then click on create. Similarly you can use it for creating other object types. Hope this helps! Cheers Ranjeeta no. From To Current EXT EX 30000000 399999999 X IN 00000000 000000001 X Make sure that your internal number range is very low. We tend to use a type of number logic here where anything that starts with a 3 is a position, but you can use what range you like as long as it does not encompass the internal numbers. Make sure your external number range in: $$$$ matches the external number range you are using for 01S. I tested it in our sandbox environment and this set up works. You have to key the number in on the initial screen. For instance if you are using PQ13 - SAP's standard create Position action the number must be keyed into the Position text box prior to clicking on the execute button.
