Hi Bob,

Through the SD sales order setting, you can choose to either sale your finished product as BOM item or non-BOM item whereas in the latter case, the BOM component will be manually add to the sales order items.

We have instances where a customer may want to supply an item to us to use as part of a product we manufacture. It may be that they want to supply the motor for example. The question is what is the recommended method of tracking this through our plant? There would be three scenarios: 1) the motor is to be mounted and is therefore a part of the manufacturing process, 2) the motor will ship loose as an item on the sales order.
