The only thing I can think of is that when you changed the ss rate from 6.2 to 4.2 for the employee portion you did not date delimit the old rate. Did the adjustment run in January go back to last year and try to recalculate the ss at the 4.2 rate instead of the 6.2 rate?

I am getting an error when doing a forced retro up to 01/01/11 after changing the tax company. The error says that payroll processing terminated because negative amount is ot allowed for /Q03. This negative amount is coming due to an adjustment run in jan. Please advise how to resolve tis issue.
