You can find information from SAP website using search terms : barcode label printing.
There are many types of barcode (Code 39, Code 128, EAN, etc) depends on specific industries, such as retail, manufacture, post office, etc.
Depend on your company requirement you should define which barcode type (font) should be use, and then your development team can make program using smartforms to define it. You could check on tcode SE73 which barcode type that already supported by SAP.
For specific printer barcode, you could ask the vendor which device type that match with SAP. An for barcode scanner you also make sure that the barcode type is supported.

Hi Folks,
Can some one please guide me on configuring Barcode / Label printers. We are planning to use Intermec printers on our new ware House environment.
Please guide me on this as I am working on label printing first time. Please let me know the activities involved from basis end such what access methods we have to choose, appropriate driver type..etc.
I have got some information from net however it will be useful if some one share your thoughts who has already worked on label printers.
