Hello,

No, not from my understanding. I consider SAP a little weak on this side of sales management as there is not one object that can handle the whole status of inter-relating objects. I come from a MIS background!!

SAP seems to move the current status of the object to next object when the previous object has been "completed".

A lot of clients and this includes my current client have to develop very complex ABAP ALV programs to handle the current status of the sales management a where the open status is .... SO, DN, VLPOD, BI, Payment. For example, in a previous client we had one report which was:

a. SO no DN
b. DN no PGI
c. PGI no BI
d. BI no Payment

Hope it helps.

Regards

Waza

Subject: Definition of open vs closed sales order

Is there a customizing point that manages when a sales order is considered "closed" based on the invoice being created vs. delivery created? In our environment, when an outbound delivery is created, the order disappears from VA05. When a delivery is not posted for several days this causes confusion.
Thanks in advance,
