There is a BADi which you need to activate and from there you can change document type of PO generated from ME59N.
There is no standard settings for changing doc type in PO from ME59N, it always pick NB only.

The NB is the default document type for PRs generated in mRP run. If you
don't want you can change it the required document type in customization of
MRP settings and even you can assign seperate document type for PRs in each
plant.
The settings you can make in SPRO in MRP settings either in CBP or PP
(production planning). There is also a trnasaction code but right now I was
not in access of the system and you can try or else I will provide.
