Hi,

Your guess is correct. This feature cannot be mapped in Classic WHT, however
there are also other settings that need to be maintained apart from OB98.

Subject: Does the reduced rate functionality work for Classic Withholding?

Hello experts!
I am configuring Classic withholding tax for US 1042 reporting on payments made to foreign vendors.

In OB98 there is a field QSATR for a Reduced Rate. The F1 definition states this is a ' Percentage rate which is to be used for the withholding tax base amount if there is a valid exemption certificate, to calculate the withholding tax amount. I have not been able to get this to work.

Here is an example. I have withholding country AU set with a 30% rate. Then in the field QSATR I have 10% set in OB98. In the vendor master record, I entered values in the Exemption Certificate field QSZNR. But when I post a payment using this vendor, the withholding calculates at 30%, not 10%.

The business requires that the withholding for AU is 10%, BUT they need to be able to withhold 30% for AU in very rare situations using the same tax code.

I don't know if this is an issue for Classic versus Extended or what. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
