Makes sense I guess and every operation is very different which is why it can be hard to answer questions here sometimes. Seems as though it would be worth delaying the pick on materials that are short and then having a bespoke allocation transaction that will allocate between required customers. Got to be better than picking, breaking down, and repicking. Just doesn't feel right to send instructions to the warehouse on the knowledge its most likely wrong. Don't think there is any standard solution though although would be happy to be proved wrong.
