Hi Kshipra I'd suggest as below: a)Create a date type say Z1 - with a suitable desc (say 1st quarter of fin.year) b)IT 41 - enter date type Z1 as 10/01/yyyy where the yyyy is the year prior to the employee's start. If this year does not work, try yyyy = empl.'s start of service year For new empl, you can create this date type through dynamic action - for infotype say 0001 or 0008. For existing empl, you can create this entry though LSMW or a one-off program. c)V_T559L - Selection rules - accrual tab. Select 'Rel.to date type' and enter date type Z1 with length of 12mths. d)V_T559L - validity & ded dates:- Please note the validity (i.e., IT 2006 begda & endda) does not need to be for 3m. It can be valid just for one day when it is transferred to entl. It is the dedn period that needs to be for the 3m or whatever you need. The absence processing including the deduction from the abs. quota depends on the validity period not being after the absence period. For example if the abs is on 05/01/2010 to 05/07/2010, and if the quota validity (P2006-begda to endda) is after the abs end date, then the abs quota can not be used. The absence period in IT 2001 needs to be within the P2006 dedn from and to dates (DESTA and DEEND). Often the IT 2006 is created for a period and sometimes up to 12/31/9999. This is not necessary. This type of abs quota record creation has a further problem. For example, there is a IT 2006 with begda/endda = 10/01/2010 to 12/31/9999. When a IT 2006 is subsequently created, the entl hrs/days is just updated in the existing record above. A new record is not created. This will result in the abs quota to be available in the wrong period. This is a common issue I have seen in several installations. Hope this helps. In order to get these dates, I have used the validity & deduction dates as start date of 9 month and end date as end of deduction period. When i created this quota, it gave me correct deduction start date as well as correct end date, however, if I try to create this quota for a new hire and put a start date of an employee as 01/05/2010, this quota's deduction start date comes up as 10/05/2010 to 12/31/2010, however, I want 10/1/2010 to 12/31/2010. Can you please help. | __.____._ Copyright © 2010 Toolbox.com and message author. Toolbox.com 4343 N. Scottsdale Road Suite 280, Scottsdale, AZ 85251 | | JG-SAPHR SAP HR Helper
