The error message is a network related error. From the host o/s where the EP server runs, can you 'ping sapserver1.workgroup.net'?

If yes, then can you 'telnet sapserver1.workgroup.net sapmsCA1' - you should get a nearly-blank screen (flashing cursor), or an error message that may tell more about what's wrong.

If the telnet 'works' then the EP RFC to BW/BI should also (assuming nothing else is wrong - if there were, there should be another different error message).

Enterprise portal system was working fine initially.
Now...
I can login to portal EP. However I cannot access any application like BEX Analyzer..it gives "Connect to message server host failed", Similiarly in Visual Composer in Portal Content, it says connection to backend fails...So also for all other applications...
