How about using a contract for reference for that customer .... then you could have a discount of $50 per unit and it will help you to keep track of the ones referenced and ever return could be done in reference to the original invoice (or the last invoice in case you could not identify specific unit being returned) also you could just setup a contract with the whole quantity the customer plans to buy for the whole year, and even include every material the customer usually buys, so it save you time during order entry of just doing reference) that also give you the flexibility to have a 1 place to setup all customer prices and discounts, order fulfillment analysis, last order references and the status of them ...very helpful during next year negotiations :-) If that does not work, you could explore a user exit to keep the count of units ordered (like RABK said .... you have to consider returns, credits, etc.) and setup a pricing condition base formula (VOFM) based on such custom counter) Hope this helps ---------------Original Message--------------- From: sonuj22 Sent: Wednesday, July 07, 2010 12:40 PM Subject: Pricing help needed : Business requirement similar to graduated scales but not quite the same ...... > We have a requirement where customers start getting higher discounts as the number of units they buy increases over a period of time. They do not have to buy more in a single order to get the higher discount but the more they buy over several orders the higher their discount gets. Here is how the scheme works: > > e.g if they buy 1st unit of Material ABC (Discount $0) they pay $ 2495 ea > if they buy 2nd unit of Material ABC (Discount $50) they pay $2445 ea > if they buy 3rd unit of Material ABC (Discount $100) they pay $2395 ea > if they buy 4th unit of Material ABC (Discount $150) they pay $2345 ea > if they buy the 5th unit and beyond of Material ABC (Discount $200) they pay $2295 ea > > The system needs to keep track of how many units they have bought over the course of this promotion and offer the discount accordingly. They do not have to buy more units in a single order to get the higher discount. > > If anyone has had this kind of a requirement in the past and has a solution please post it here. > > Thanks in advance for your help. > > SJ | __.____._ Copyright © 2010 Toolbox.com and message author.
