Hi Suzanne,

The SMTP node has to be configured for any e-mail or Faxing requirements, but the Output determination configuration is NOT a Basis issue. This is definitely a Functional configuration issue.

In the Original message the Andre indicates the following:

"The SMTP domain is up and running
External Fax provider is configured"

The Development requirement is required to "It must get the fax number from the Vendor details and send it as a pdf attatchment to ex"

David,

The MM functional analyst DOES need his/her BASIS person/team to configure the SMTP node. After that, the MM configuration for 'Message Determination' can be done. There are many posts on this forum and others about the needed MM config.

Having said that, as I can attest, it is NOT exactly a straight forward/easy issue to get the configuration in MM working. I'm still tackling it.
