Hi,
We faced a similar error in RFCCHK phase while upgrading from 3.1I to ECC 6.0, we reset the password for DDIC to initial one i.e 19920706 and reset using 'SAPup set ddicpwd' as well. The step worked for us and moved to the next phase successfully.

first I have changed the DDIC password but my issue was not solved because my DDIC pwd was correct.
I have solved this issue by applying the last KERNEL.
