What you should do is create multiple variants so they can be run concurrently. For example if you have 3000 employees, set a 3 variants using employee number 1 -1000, another from 1001-2000, and another variant for 2001-3000.
At one site where it was taking 12 hours to run, we created 12 varaints with an equal number of employee records per variant, ran the variants concurrently and it took an hour. Simple! __.____._
