your question is not clear, I try to give you an answer but it is necessary to have more info.
The cip asset should contain the Internal Order number (field Origin of master data).
The settlement shoudl be possible specifying the "original period" of the settlement, and specifying "current posting period". Hoping it helps, otherwise please add more info about the case you have.
